WEEK 1 OF WoME

Welcome everyone, to this very first Week of World of Middle Earth! This week I bring you lovely tales, a funny story, a scandalous quote... and whatever more. Thank you so much for reading in advance and as always, if you see something worth posting, send me a beacon pronto!

We shall start with a humorous tale, gladly caught by our Announcer Sigrunn, who happened upon a delightful tale in the Hall of Kings as told by Shrike Morroval...

The Tale of The Maiden and the Cheese that was Grilleth

Once there was a beautiful maiden who knew the secrets of grilled cheese. At the same time, a villanous creature of unknown origin was forcing the citizens of the world to consume frozen dinners. the frozen dinners were quite atrocious. No microwave in the world could warm its way into the cores of those meals... not even the hottest of ovens... the core was always cold. The beautiful grilled cheese maiden watched the people suffer and cried for them... how many souls were lost to the monstrousity of forzen dinners... She knew what to do. It was within her power, after she learnt those very powers from a mysteries master in a land far far away. (coughs... ShREk). The maiden slowly shared her grilled cheese with other people... Showing them how to forge its golden goodness and thus creating the Rebellion fo the Grilled Cheese. Leading the Rebellion, the beautiful maiden - she of the Grilled Cheese - went to the villians lair to confront them and bring an end to their reign of terror and frozen dinners.

The enemy fortress was dark, and bore resemblance to the classic frozen dinner. It was slightly warm on the outside, but freezing cold on the inside. The maiden found the villian, seated on a throne of abused microwaves and uneaten frozen dinners. Then, in a single act of passion and outrage and love for the people subjected to the villians heinous ways... The beautiful maiden gracefully flung some grilled cheese at them. The grilled cheese made contact, attaching itself to the villians face and the maiden sung her battle cry. A battle erupted, the villian fighting back with their frozen dinners... But it was too late for the villian... The maiden had the higher ground and triumphed, carried on the wings of power provided to her by the Gods of Grilled Cheese. It all ended that day. The beautiful maiden had defeated the villian and banished frozen dinners forever. The people prospered and consumed grilled cheese, following the maiden... She who knew the secrets of Grilled Cheese... for she had unlocked the secret achievement...

Now that was quite the funny tale, I thought, and I am jealous of the beautiful maiden and her grilled cheese. I got quite hungry of this myself! Talking about hungry, I am rather hungry... for an event! Those days of cooperating, writing and hilarity... oh, man. Do ya'll remember that time we tried to catch pigs? It was lovely. Anyways, are you hungry for an event too? And if so, what Quest would you like to embark on? Comment your favourite type of event below to win a small prize...

Last but not least, for today, I wish to highlight a user that has stood out to me in the last week - by her kindness, cuteness, and overall happy cheer. After all, what makes the weeks on WoME most enjoyable is the people we meet and the travellers we talk to...

Therefore I would love to thank Susie Ballylaw for her ongoing rays of sunshine in chat and her kindness to each and every one of us. For this, she is awarded the honorary title of WoME Hero of Week 1. For next week, I would love to give a shout out to someone that one of you chose, so do you have a particularly fine roleplay partner, a spiritual ray of sunshine in chat or someone who made your day a better place? Send me their name!

Do never hesitate to beacon me for anything, and let's hope these weekly posts will help us all to bring the site to a new level!

Kindest regards,,
Tobias Elkhart & the SoME team
