Behind the Screens

Róin Thore

Eamon Bluefeather

Here we go! I guess, it is not just me, who is very curious about the person behind the screen. Róin please tell us something about you!

Róin Thore

Me? Hm...I’m, as some of you may know, from Germany. I’m normally a female though I do react to the call of my male characters. I am in my thirties and somehow still a child...or at least childish. I have been a fan of LotR since the first movie came out in Germany. I live alone with my two cats Cookie (my princessssss or Madame or “Are you serious?”) and Earl Grey (my devil or satan or “Don’t do that, you crazy cat!”) in the North Western part of Germany.

Since we all have good stories with a little fire and some hot cocoa - Could you tell us the story of how you came to World of Middle Earth?

Róin Thore

Oh, that’s a funny one. I was at a meeting with some people that I know from the german WoP. And friends, as friends do, are talking about a lot of things. And one (our sweet Soledad) mentioned something about a LotR website. I was all in from that. Asked her questions and didn’t leave her alone till I knew all and everything. Some days later, I was here. And I am since.

What is your favourite item you'd love to possess from the Tolkien-fandom?

Róin Thore

Phew, that is a hard one. What item…? Sting would be nice or any kind of sword, actually. I love weapons. One of the dwarven axes would be great, too. I think I’ll take the axe. Double blade, double danger! ;)
Eamon Bluefeather

As Róin you are a hobbit, related to the Stoors actually, if I am right. Which race of Middle Earth would fit you, the real person, the most and why?

Róin Thore

You are right. Róin is of Stoor blood. And I have to admit that I am a hobbit too. Mixed with Dwarven blood. I am always hungry and a little sneaky as a hobbit but I am also very raging or moody as a dwarf. You better don’t cross me before I had my morning coffee and you better don’t shorten my meals. Might be unhealthy for you.
Eamon Bluefeather

Which event of the movies would love to participate in? Is there anybody you definitely want to meet in real life?

Róin Thore

I’d looooooove to take part in the Battle of Helms Deep. I’d be first in line to slaughter some orcs. Guess it’s the dwarf in me that wants to swing an axe at those beasts. If I could pick anyone, I’d be meeting Gimli and Merry and Pippin as a Duo, and Legolas and Aragorn...oh oh and Gandalf, just because I wanna touch his beard and his horse...horsiessss! Sorry, those animals get me E V E R Y time...love to draw them btw.

You're on another adventure, exploring the deep woods and finding yourself at a fork. One way is dark, overgrown and it smells quite strange and if you look and listen closely, you can see green blinking eyes and hear some growls. The other path looks as if a flower shop had exploded. Which one would you choose for your adventure?

Róin Thore

My gut tells me “Go and take the flowers!” and my brain kind of answers “But do you wanna miss the fun?”. So I would be standing there, swaying left and right and probably ignore my guts in the end and regret it shortly after that. XD
Eamon Bluefeather

You are on the site for a little longer as well. What was your greatest moment until this point?

Róin Thore

Another hard one. Don’t ask me that kind of question, dangit. Greatest Moments…? Hm, I think every time the awards are due is great. Of course the time that I got my color was great. But absolutely awesome was the night where Kal, Hurg and I were choosing the colors for the kingdoms. That was epic. That’ll always be in my mind.
Eamon Bluefeather

As a true Hobbit daddy - would you dare to nick something of farmer Maggot?

Róin Thore

Sure! Hello, if me is hungry than no one would stop me.
Eamon Bluefeather

Khazad-Dûm, Bree or the Argonath - Which would be the greatest place for you to visit (and/or stay)?

Róin Thore

I have to say Khazad-Dûm. Cause that would be a-maze-ing to visit. I’d love to see those dwelling halls of dwarven architecture.
Eamon Bluefeather

Do you have a wish for the community and the future of WoME you want to share?

Róin Thore

Not a wish but definitely a future. Stay as awesome as you are! Right now, I can’t wish for more. You guys are family to me and I would love to keep that.
